Arturo Riccardi (30 Oct. 1878 - 20 Dec. 1966)
Riccardi served in the Italian navy in many high roles, but became Chief of Staff of the Italian Navy in December 1940. Therefore he became almost the de facto commander of the air force and navy. In 1941, Riccardi commanded during the Battle of Taranto. When Italy surrendered to the Allied force, he was replaced in all his official capacities.
